Bullhead City non-profit “We Care for Animals” is partnering with Low Cost Spay and Neuter Clinic in Kingman, AZ for THE BIG FERAL FIX from January 27 to February 3, 2017.
Their goal is to spay and neuter at least 130 feral, or “community”, cats before the Springtime kitten season using TNR.
TNR involves humanely trapping feral cats living in cities, towns and rural areas and transporting them to a veterinary clinic where they are spayed or neutered. They may also receive a health check, vaccinations, and can be treated for routine medical conditions before being re-released back into their colony. Trap-Neuter-Return provides a life-saving, effective solution and stops the breeding cycle of cats and therefore improves their lives while preventing reproduction.
Anyone interested in being a volunteer or a caregiver should contact Rebecca Seefeld at 928-362-2733 or attend a TNR training class at the Sudden Link Center off of Suddenlink Way in Bullhead City. Classes are set for Saturday, January 7th, January 14th and/or January 21 from 1-3 p.m.
In 2016, We Care for Animals successfully spayed and neutered 117 Community Cats in Bullhead City.
